Welcome to the on-line orientation for summer clients. Please read the information in the following pages, which cover safety, supervision, emergencies, policies, and expectations for your stay in U.M. residence halls. See below for some of the new summer 2008 policies.
On-line Orientation sessions are required for all group organizers including coaches, camp directors, and academic program administrators. This on-line orientation replaces our summer safety meetings previously offered. Please click through the orientation below and validate that you have read and agree to the policies and expectations herein.
We no longer allow bunk beds for guests under the age of 18. This decision was made as a result of injuries that occurred last summer from guests falling out of bed. All beds will be placed on the floor and should not be moved or bunked by summer residents/ campers under the age of 18. For new building block furniture that is difficult to move, mattresses will be removed from upper bunks and signage will state that upper bunks are not to be used.
Cash Operations are no longer available at Residence Hall front desks. Arrangements are being made to accept on-line credit card payments for commuter meals, parking and other miscellaneous expenses. Please help us meet this customer service challenge by keeping your groups informed and updated of the new systems that we put in place (more communication will follow).
Final billing will occur for most groups within a few days of the end of your stay. Please contact your conference coordinator/manager with any questions or concerns upon receipt of your bill. If you are the administrator of a camp or conference with purchased services such as classroom space and special events & services, you will receive an immediate invoice for meals & accommodations, and a second invoice for remaining unbilled services. Payment is expected 14 days after the billing date for each invoice. Marketing and Conference Services reserves the right to charge late fees for overdue invoices.
Short codes will be charged 14 days after the billing date. Only one short code will be billed for each group/camp. We ask our University clients to handle their allocation of costs internally.
If you have a UM Unique Name, please register for UM Emergency Alerts on Wolverine Access. The UM Emergency Alert is a mass, urgent notification system, comprised of a variety of methods by which the University can notify students, faculty and staff of an active, major campus emergency. More information about the system can be found at http://www.umemergencyalert.umich.edu/ .
