Resident and Staff Identification

To assist in identifying summer program residential participants, University Housing will provide a lanyard with the room keycard.

Lanyards are only issued to residential participants, not commuting participants. The University Housing Conference Coordinator for your group will advise you on the procedures for obtaining lanyards.

It is highly recommended that distribution and control of the lanyards be the responsibility of one individual staff member. 

Stress to participants that their lanyards must be worn whenever they are in the building. If the lanyard is not visible, Department of Public Safety personnel and University Housing representatives will ask to see identification.

Program participants may keep the lanyards as souvenirs of their visit to the University of Michigan. Keycards, however, must be returned.

Lost Lanyards, Keys, or Key Cards

Replacement fees for lost keys and ID cards are $35 for the door key and $20 for the ID card, which will be billed to your camp.

A broken lanyard may be exchanged for a new one.
