Keycards and Meal Cards

Mcards

 MCards are required to:

  • Enter the residence hall
  • Eat meals in the residence hall dining room
  • Pass building security

Keycards

Programmed keycards access each participant's room and hall bathroom.

Lanyards, with keycards and keycard holders attached, must be worn whenever residential participants are in the building and should not be loaned to anyone.

Commuters

Commuters are required to wear identification whenever they are in a residence hall.

Prepare in advance identification for visitors for admission to the building on move-out day. Every visitor must wear a self-adhesive badge that contains the following information:

  • Name
  • Summer Program Name
  • Name of Residence Hall
  • Date

We recommend a 2-1/3” x 3-3/8” label format (Avery #5395). As a suggestion, you could pre-print the name of your program and residence hall in advance and write in the visitor’s name and the date.

These stick-on badges are intended for one-time use only. Returning visitors will need a new badge for each visit to the building.

Pre-purchased meals – If you wish to pay for the commuter meals for any of your participants, please let us know in advance so that we can prepare the meal cards and staff instructions.

If identification is not visible, Department of Public Safety personnel and University Housing representatives will ask to see identification.

It is important that all cards are returned at Check Out. You will be charged for any that are not returned, per your contract.
