It is the responsibility of organizers of University of Michigan summer programs to read these Guidelines and to share the information with their program and supervisory staff. Organizers must comply with all policies and procedures.
In recognition of the need to ensure the highest levels of safety and security to participants enjoying the University of Michigan’s Summer Programs experience, staff members representing a variety of departments were appointed to the Summer Safety Oversight Group (SSOG) in 1999. This group is responsible for establishing safety and security standards, developing supportive procedures, and providing oversight to ensure compliance with all requirements.
The Summer Safety Oversight Group would like to express its appreciation to all staff involved with the University’s summer programs for their efforts in helping to develop improvements and we commend the ongoing commitment to safety and security demonstrated each year.
