Non-Residential Participant and
Visitor Identification
To ensure the safety of residential participants, visitors (relatives, faculty and non-residential staff) who are in the residence halls for any reason must have visible identification. Department of Public Safety personnel or other University Housing staff may question the presence of visitors and ask them to leave if they are not properly identified.
Non-residential program participants (commuters or day participants) and staff must have an ID – this cannot be a key lanyard – indicating the program and date valid for access.
Visitors in the residence hall must be supervised at all times. Nonresidential participants are not permitted to roam the building unescorted. Front desk staff will not open the doors for drop-in visitors.
Badge Identification
Prepare in advance identification for visitors for admission to the building on move-out day. Every visitor must wear a self-adhesive badge that contains the following information:
We recommend a 2-1/3” x 3-3/8” label format (Avery #5395). As a suggestion, you could pre-print the name of your program and residence hall in advance and write in the visitor’s name and the date.
These stick-on badges are intended for one-time use only. Returning visitors will need a new badge for each visit to the building.
