University Housing Conferences recommends that program organizers hold an orientation session for residential campers. The following are suggested topics and information to include in your residential orientation program.

Program-Specific Topics
[not applicable to Wolverine Summer Camps?] Each program should establish rules and procedures for the safety and security of participants. The following are some suggestions for discussion:
- Whether or not they may drive or ride with another student in a car
- What they should do if they become ill
- Whether or not they may leave the campus
- The procedure for dispensing medication
- When to call for assistance
- Any special needs or requirements
- Procedures for early checkout
