Residential Camper Placement and Roommate Requests

Residential Camper Placement

Campers between the ages of ten and eighteen may attend the residential portion of camp. At Registration, we assign rooms in the residential halls by camp, gender, and age.

Male and female campers stay on separate floors to eliminate any unsupervised interaction between campers of the opposite sex.

We place campers on halls with other campers their age. If two campers of different ages would like to stay together, the pair stays on a hall corresponding to the age of the younger camper. We will not place a younger camper in an older hall.

There are no room guarantees. We assign all campers to double or triple rooms and we fill all rooms to capacity, regardless of roommate request. Single rooms are not available to campers.

Roommate Requests

If campers would like to room together, the first camper to arrive may request a spot for his/her desired roommate by telling the camp staff member the name and age of the desired roommate.

The best way to facilitate roommate requests is for campers to arrive at registration together.

Residence Hall Housing

South Quad has eight communities called houses:

  • Bush
  • Fred
  • Gomberg
  • Huber
  • Taylor
  • Kelsey
  • Hunt
  • Thronson

House communities allow campers to participate in evening social activities and to make new friends. South Quad has dining rooms, a television viewing room, indoor and outdoor activities, and a video game area. All houses have floor-shared bathrooms. Rooms are not air conditioned, so we suggest that campers bring fans.
